What is a project?
A project is simply a group of related tasks. Let's say you wished to send a trade newsletter. This could be created as a project and you'd create tasks inside that project like:
- Create newsletter content.
- Design the layout.
- Get quotes for printing.
- Print newsletter.
- Send newsletter.
Rather than have these as unrelated tasks in the system, Projects provides a useful way to organise things into logical groups which can be followed up and easily managed.
Once entered, you can assign each task to different people within the company and track it either on their personal "to do" lists, the company "to do" list - or, of course as part of the project itself.
Tasks
Tasks are just like Tasks in Microsoft Outlook - they're a "To-do" item of some sort.
In Tall Emu CRM a task may be attached to one or more item, such as a person and a company. The cross referencing function allows searching of tasks based on however you work, for example:
- Show me all of my tasks.
- Show me all of the tasks related to this project.
- Show me all of the tasks related to the Johnson Account.
